For over 35 years Kinesio Tape® has been used by athletes and non-athletes alike. Kinesio Tape is the one and only therapeutic tape with 35 years of scientific research supporting its scientific method and applications. Wildly popular within the world of rehabilitation as well as athletics, Kinesio Tape garnered worldwide recognition after athletes wore it during the 2008 summer Olympics in China. Kinesio Tape has been around for generations, and has been the tape of choice by physical therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers and a many other types of practitioners of human health and performance. Now you too can learn how to use Kinesio Tape!

ALL Course Requirements:

In order to attend a Kinesio Taping® seminar, each attendee must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. 1. Must have completed 80 course hours of anatomy and physiology
  2. 2. Must have a working knowledge of the musculoskeletal system
  3. 3. Must be able to do assessments by evaluating and/or diagnosing injuries and conditions
  4. 4. Must have achieved or is a student in their junior or senior year (transcripts must be provided) working towards one or more of the following credentials:

Registration fee, minus a $50.00 administration fee, will be refunded if written cancellation is received 30 days prior to the seminar. No refunds will be given after that date, only registration transfers to another Kinesio Taping Association class taught by Dr. Christina M. Lujan. ***Dr. C. M. Lujan and Kinesio Tape Association reserve the right to cancel at any time with full refund due to low registration enrollment.


Official and partner hosted Kinesio Taping Seminars will be held locally at Spine Team Chiropractic, 701 Osuna Road NE, Suite 600, Albuquerque, NM 87113 OR designated approved site.

The registration fee includes tuition for the selected classes, all books, materials, and tape for each attendee for both the lecture and practical portion of each class.

Kinesio Taping 1 and 2: Fundamental Concepts of the Kinesio Taping Method

(Prerequisite: 80 completed course hours of Anatomy and Physiology must be a qualifying medical practitioner in an advanced health care setting)

KT1 course is designed to introduce practitioners to the Kinesio Taping Method. The KT2 course builds on material learned in KT1. During this eight-hour class, the instructor will introduce the six corrective Techniques and discuss and demonstrate their application in a variety of clinical conditions.

KinesioTaping 3: Clinical Concepts and Advanced Whole Body Applications of the Kinesio Taping Method

(Pre-Requisite, completion of KINESIO UNIVERSITY approved KT 1 & KT 2 courses)

The KinesioTaping 3 course combines the Kinesio Taping Method foundational concepts of KinesioTaping 1 & KinesioTaping 2 with advanced clinical concepts. The course provides lab time for attendees to practice their skills on the new concepts through a variety of clinical applications. The KinesioTaping 3 course is designed to allow the Certified Kinesio Taping Instructor (CKTI) to cater specific clinical applications to address specific professions. Upon completion of this course and prerequisite KinesioTaping 1 & KinesioTaping 2 seminar, attendees will be eligible to request and take the exam to become a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP). Note: Students can request to take the exam but will not be eligible to receive a CKTP certificate until they graduate.

KT3 Course Objectives: By the end of the course, attendees will be able to:

  1. 1. Review the basic concepts of the Kinesio Taping Method
  2. 2. Explain and apply advanced concepts of the Kinesio Taping Method
  3. 3. Review epidermis, dermis, and fascial anatomy as it is related to Kinesio Taping
  4. 4. Utilize and demonstrate application skills in guided laboratory sessions. Apply the Kinesio Taping Method to stimulate epidermis, dermis, and fascial response
  5. 5. Apply advanced clinical taping techniques for treatment of the spine, neurological conditions, and upper/lower extremity dysfunction.

KT4 Specialty sports/orthopedic concepts of the Kinesio Taping Method


The KT4 Sports/Orthopedic course is focused on sports/orthopedic conditions. During the KT4 Sports/Orthopedic course, attendees will practice their skills on a variety of applications correlated with specific clinical and sport conditions. This course is designed to give attendees guidelines on how to combine the concepts learned in the KT1, KT2, and KT3 courses with the concepts of sport medicine and orthopedic practice. This course is also designed to give attendees the chance to learn and practice specific applications related to sports dysfunctions and joint issues. During this course, attendees will face problem-solving and specific taping techniques correlated with the healing process of joint and soft tissues, posture correction to provide stimulations to restore good posture for athletes, and lower and upper limb injuries. Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to combine the Kinesio Taping Method with specific sport conditions following guidelines learned during this course and developing the skills necessary to adapt Kinesio Taping Techniques to specific needs of athletes/clientele. This will enable the attendees to create an individualized treatment correlated to the phase of the healing process as well as the specific sport injury, sport performed, and position that the athlete occupies on the field.

KT4 Course Objectives: By the end of the course, attendees will be able to:

  1. 1. Enhances achieving the common objectives of Sports Medicine Practitioners
  2. 2. Learn Kinesio Taping Methods for:
  3. o Common athletic injuries

  4. o Recognizing “local” vs. “global” issues

  5. o Treating overuse issues

  6. o Treating the cause of the symptoms

  7. o Improving clinical condition of the athletes correlated to athletic performance

  8. o Integration of the Kinesio Taping Method into the treatment protocol of an injury from the initial onset of the injury, healing stages, rehabilitation, and return to activity

  9. o Teaching and learning the proper posture, core strength, and movement patterns can be greatly enhanced with proper use of the Kinesio Taping Method

  10. o Review and study the current trends of the Kinesio Taping Method in relationship to current trends in Sports Medicine
